What happens if you yank the RAM out when the computer is running?

    Hi

One should'nt be doing that in any case at all, but what can happen is always in the hands of the hardware gods, may kill the ram or motherboard due, or nothing may happen, wouldnt want to find out though.

Like Halo said, all down to luck.

I worked with a guy once who replaced some RAM in a 486 while it was running, he hadn't realised it was still powered up due to being interrupted by a 'phone call. It continued to run and was still working fine a few years later.

    Don't try it.
