Sim City 4 - Different Problem!!!

I've managed to finally install Sim City 4 by copying the game to my hard-drive. BUT when I try to run it a message comes up saying - Hardrive error, could not initialise direct draw. I have NO idea what this means but the game wont run!!! I have a good laptop as I've said before and the hard-drive is in perfect condition and is very high spec etc.
Please please will someone tell me whats going on.

Didnt say this in the other post but saying "I have a good pc trust me!!!!" doesnt work, at all. You provided no information and just because you chucked x amount of money on your laptop doesnt mean its good. So beyond the generalized help we can possibly give you no one can go into specifics with you since your not going into specifics with us. Furthermore you didnt state what fixed your last problem either.

 

Sorry I dont know much about computers - as I'm sure you can guess!!
I've copied this down from my laptop handbook thing: -
Processor - either Mobile Intel Celeron M Processor or Intel Pentium M Processor (depends on model - I'm not sure sorry)
Hard Disc - 37.2 Gb

Sorry I dont know any of the other info really. Is there anything else you could do with knowing? Does this sound half-decent coz it was expensive?


To fix my last problem I copied and pasted everything from both discs to my PC and ran the installation from there. This meant that the program installed fully.
Now this error message comes up when I try to RUN the program. And also - the CPU usage goes up to almost 100% which I'm presuming means there's something weird going on with the processor?

from what i heard about sim city4 its like a pc killer i think you have to have one of the best pc's to run it let alone a laptop

Did you reinstall the WXP on this system? Try downloading directx 9.0c @ microsoft.com/directx , and see if there are updates to your video card driver at your mfg website, just so you know find out WHICH a80 you have there are 12 models of them. FYI that computer isnt a gaming computer and I would think of your laptop as barely scratching "fair"(for a laptop).
