Sim City 4 - PLEASE help

Hi.
I've only just come on this site so I really hope this question hasn't been asked before and I'm very sorry if it has.
I'm having an installation problem with Sim City 4. I put the first disc in and it installs up to around 36% before asking for the 2nd disc. When the 2nd disc is entered though, the installation just does not carry on. The laptop reads the disc when it's put in but the installation program will not continue.
My laptop is a good one and I know that I have enough memory space and all the other required things. Have tried the installation several times, removing the first copy in between and I get stuck on the same part every time.
If I insert disc 2 and go to 'my computer' I can browse the disc contents and so it can be read by the laptop and it is not scrached or dirty.
The most annoying thing is that I've installed Sim City 4 with these discs on my laptop and c`omputer successfully before!!!
If anyone has any advise I'd much appreciate it.

Sounds like a problem with your laptop cdrom/dvdrom drive reading capabilities, try updating the filmware or drivers from the laptops mfg.
