similar problems with hijacked homepage, Serch Asst., etc..

I have run into some of the same problems as others lately. I don't have an issue with popups but just the inability to connect to the internet thru Internet Explorer. Earlier I had problems with the homepage- now just problems connecting. I get a "no page to display" message. When I try to access my homepage, I have this in my address box - "res://thcqg.dll/http_404". I have tried some of the suggestions over the last few days that I have seen in various messages on this board with no real success. I even tried the process listed by Major Attitude but was unable to complete all the steps. Ex. wasn't able to pull anything up from Step 5 that involved notepad C:\WINDOWS\system......dll. I am assuming I need a different file name. Anyway, here is my Hijack Log. I would appreciate any tips specific to my situation. Thanks ahead of time
