It's a very rare thing to see the hardest man in entertainment humbled right there in front of the world (at least the viewing world)

Britains got Talent, for those of you who don't know what it is, it's basically American Idol type of idea but not just singing.
Well this was singing, I found it on the news and I'm sure some of you have seen it but I thought it worth posting.

If you are not moved by this video you are a robot :-D

    Damn...that seriously made me cry.

That was like one of those underdog sports movies like Rudy, where at the end the underdog makes his big move and becomes the hero.

I'd like to say that's a horrible thing to say, but sadly its true.

I didn't think of it that way. I wasn't intending to degrade him at all.

This story reminds me of similar one I think was also from Great Brittan, maybe the same TV program. It was a woman that sang beautifully but her appearance was similar to Johnathan's. She did go far and as that happened, her appearance improved. I think it has a lot to do with self confidence. Johnathan seemed, at the beginning, to be very timid. Once he got to singing, that was all that was on his mind. Hopefully as he gains self confidence through the praise of the people that hear him, he to will improve in other areas of his life including his apperance.

No worries, I know you didn't.:) I was just saying that that fact is sad, but true.

Yes, it was Susan Boyle who was the other. She has gone on to become successful and has gotten quite a makeover. I hope this gentleman finds the same success. Frankly if some Opera company doesn't snatch him up, they are nuts.

And sing well. The girl isn't as good though... or if she is, her voice is not for this kind of music.

Several of my friends have been sending me this link in the past few days, and I can tell they want me to be impressed, but... I guess I have "unrealistic" standards. *shrugs* I've heard several much better renditions of that song, both from professionals and amateurs.

I appreciate your opinion totally, the thing is we are talking about a 17 year old boy who Simon Cowell, the most critical man in the industry compared to Pavarotti. I don't care what anyone says, even if the boy loses his voice tomorrow, that's still an achievement only one in 10 million will accomplish.

Imagine what he will be like when his voice has fully matured and he has had professional training.

If you do a search on YouTube for Johnathan Antoine you'll realize that he's actually had a lot of training and didn't just appear out of nowhere.
Regardless, he has a great voice that will only continue to improve.

I wasn't impressed, but only because I had already seen:

I do think his partner is holding him down but Kudos to his loyalty for her. And seeing Cowell Take one on the chin was epic.

The thing is, by the time the talented hopefuls get to that point in the audition process of Britain's Got Talent, they actually have genuine talent. (And the girl did hold him back a bit). I'm not saying they're not good, only that it shouldn't exactly surprise anyone that just because someone doesn't look like a GQ cover model doesn't mean they can't have musical talent.

The kid can sing, and has obviously had a lot of training in it. Congratulations to him for having the courage to go for an opportunity like this when he was given the chance.

And I don't care that it was Simon who said it, no one compares to Pavarotti when they've done absolutely nothing other than a public audition. Show us what you can do on a stage or in a studio, and we'll get back to you in about a decade or so. ;)

This boy is amazing. He will go far with this voice. I agree with Mimsy completely. Last few weeks I am hearing from friends and media about his voice which means he got already the people’s attention once and I hope he will have success from now on.
