Simple (I think) network question.

I have two Computers, both running Windows XP. I want to connect the two so I can transfer files from one to the other. How do I do this? Thank you in advance for your help!

 

conn. them using a crossover cable.

assign one 192.168.1.1 subnet 255.255.255.0
assign one 192.168.1.2 subnet 255.255.255.0

create the shares you want on each of them

open command prompt on one of them and type

net use * \\192.168.1.1\share_name
net use * \\192.168.1.2\share_name

this will give you a network link on each computer to the other one
