simple question about hijackthis

    i updated hijackthis and all of a sudden i dont see any R items... i only see
    R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing. anyone have any clue? i would appreciate it much, i desperately want to fix my parents computer so they get off my *** about it.

    Hi Dave,

    As long as HJT is not showing bad Start Page or Search Page registry entries here, I wouldn't worry about it. No news is sometimes good news :)

    You should go ahead and have HijackThis fix that R3, though.

    If you are having spyware/malware problems, I suggest following this tutorial before turning to HJT - READ ME FIRST: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal . This will help malware-proof your parents' computer, at least for the short term.
