I feel stupid asking this, but can't for the life of me find where Windows 2000 keeps the Display Scheme information. I've created a custom display scheme for someone with visual problems and would like to keep a backup. Thanks.

Save the current scheme with a strange name like zoozoozxzzz then do a file search on that name both as a file name or as the contents of a file. That should find it for you.

Sorry. You don't have to do that, it's in the registry.

You know there is a search function in the regeditor, but here it is anyway ...

    MyComputer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Appearance\Schemes

This forum is designed to help people, zepper. As such, give the location if you know it. Not everyone is experienced with the OS, thats why they ask for help. Broad or general asnwers don't help anyone.

That was helpful! If he didn't know there was a search function in regedit, well now he does... ;) One doesn't help another by doing his work for him, one helps by pointing out how to do it. "He helps those who help themselves."
