If there was an item in your freeware picks that was not up to snuff and no longer working the way it should you would immediately remove it. Right?
I have relied on your expertise for years and am sick of know it all's who think I should do this or that. I will continue to rely on you as a trusted source as I have never been steered wrong and my computer, thanks to you folks, runs like a fine tuned watch. That's saying something as it is an oldie. Thanks folks.

Hey avondude, I have absolutely nothing to do with any of the software picks here at MGs, but I can say that I am very honored and proud to have been excepted by the MajorGeek community. I can't speak for everyone but, Thank you for the kind words. We volunteers here on the forum work very work and put a lot of time and effort to help each and every user who may need help.. And the top guys in charge here are the greatest at what they do for everybody.

Thank you again avondude, and thank you MajorGeeks. :clap :wine

Nick T---Thanks. I have so many folks telling me to get rid of MSE as an antivirus/malware. I love it and have never had a problem. Keep Malwarebytes as a scanner, keep SpywareBlaster up to date and am careful where I go on inet. Have recommended to my kids with Windows 8 that they are protected, (Windows Defender), and do not need to add any stuff to their computers. Just want to make sure I am giving sound advice as MSE seems to be talked down in many places on inet.

Why keep something that you're not happy with?

avondude, I have Avast Free on my computer, but I put MSE on my wife, my son, my test computer, and the spare computer, they also all have Malwarebytes, Superantispyware, Ccleaner and Privazer just to be on the safe side. If MSE works for you, then by all means keep. " Don't fix something that isn't broken".

    Hey Dave

Great thread and I will agree with you on MSE, I use Defender in Windows 8.1 and its good, no better or worse than many paid for anti-malware apps, the thing with malware is you can have a $10000000 app and if the idiot behind the keyboard allows a download or opens a suspicious email then the malware has access to install.

So keeping yourself malware free is having good security, upto date OS and apps and safe surfing and downloading, those nude pics of Miliey are not going to be real!!

Dave thanks as Laura mentioned for the great feedback.
