simple question

i have 2 cd drives. one is a cdrw and one is a dvdrom. if i take the dvdrom drive out, will my computer run faster?

 

No unless,you are using them simultaneously all the time,it will take up a few more processes for the comp to keep checking its there but you wont notice anything,are you displeased with the performance of your comp,there are many ways to increase performance without spending a dime and keeping all your hardware

Looking for more speed, Post your PC spec's, someone might be able to help ya speed things up.

Over time PC's build up A Bunch O Crap, may be time for some cleanup/Defrag/reinstall/spyware removal things of that nature, or after that then there is always hardware upgrades.

 

ok well here are my specs:
dell windows xp made in 2002. i upgraded through the auto updates to sp2.
256 mb ram, 1.8 ghz pentium 4 processor, 80 gb internal hard drive, i also have a second 10 gb internal hard drive that i just use to save movies.
if any of u guys know how to increase the performance of my computer without buying additional hardware then that would be great. and i dont have any spyware because i have spybot, adaware, and avg anti virus and i run and update them often.

 

so duz any1 know how to my my computer faster without adding hardware with the specs i gave?
