Sims 2 download error

Hello,
I get the following error when trying to install Sims 2:

"A problem occurred when trying to transfer the file tsdata\res\sound\fx1.package Do you want to retry to copy the file or cancel the installation?"

Unfortunately, my only option is cancelling because it never loads.

System is brand new w/160GB hard drive, GEforce 5500 256mb video card, athlon 64 3000 processor so space, speed and graphics are not the problem. Has anyone encountered this error? (Direct X 9.0 is installed and drivers were all downloaded yesterday so those are also not the problem).

Any help would be appreciated.

 

Buy the actual game? Didnt you just post this? If it got deleted, get a clue.

 

As a matter of fact, I did NOT just post this. I happen to have just shelled out 50 bucks at Best Buy for a game that will not load onto a very expensive, up to date computer system and you're busy INSULTING me???? I think YOU need to get a clue and check up on who's posting what before you start typing responses.

As a matter of fact, I'm aware I said download rather than install...deal with it. I left it at download because I was unaware that after I posted. a message could be edited (you can sue me on that too, heaven forbid I MISSED that button...have mercy on me lord for my stupid, stupid ways). It was late and I was tired and frustrated from trying to install something that will not work. If you have nothing of value with which to ASSIST me, why are you bothering to speak at all? The entire issue of download v install could have been cleared up by simply asking "Did you mean to say install rather than download?" but instead you find it more satisfying to leap all over someone who is attempting to look to someone more knowledgeable than herself (about games and computers at least, clearly not about human interactions) for assistance. Well, good for you. I hope that helps to boost your ego when you lay your head down at night.
And by the way, I still did NOT just post this so I STILL suggest you check who is posting what before you begin slinging insults at people.
