    hi,
just taken out 1 GB of RAM x2 512, then added 2 GB into one slot !

just read that my system (sony vaio vgn-fs515) should have two 1 GB added to make up to the 2 GB....

Does it really make any diff or damage to the said computer ??? hope not been running it all day !!!!

i also found out thats the limit of the RAM i can add, does anyone know why that is ? just for future ref, can i add another 2 GB...

    thanks..............................

It's the limitation of your motherboard chipset and no you can't add more if 2GB is the specified limit. Also, you won't have any problems with having one 2GB as opposed to 2X1GB which is for dual channel which I haven't seen any real performance increase in day to day use. It may make a difference on high end apps or games but I have nothing to back that up. You'll be fine IMO.
