Skipping

I have a Sony Vaio Laptop with all of the factory specs. In the past few days out of no where it started skipping if thats even the best way to describe it. For Example, If I watch a music video online, the sound, the video, everything will skip periodically and the time elapsed between skips stays pretty consistent. It almost sounds like it is echoing or something to that effect. If you use microsoft word, and have ever held down the backspace button until the cursor had deleted everything and was at the top of the document and kept holding the back button until that fast repetitive beep happends, then thats exactly how this sounds. it happens on any sound application whether it be warnings, alarms, music, etc. I hope this is detailed enough information. Your help would be very appreciative. I have ran virus scans, scandisks, defragmentation, microsoft updates, and the last thing I have been trying to do is update the drivers for this model on the sony website. Any ideas?

Sony Vaio laptops have different specs from the factory. Can you be more specific on what model you have or the specs that come with it?

If the problem is just playing off a website, you may not have enough memory installed to store (buffer) the file before playing. Playing from the website, your computer will buffer the file (store part of the file to memory) , play the file until the buffer is done, then pause to load more of the file into memory. If you have minimum memory, this will cause it to play as you describe. If you can, download the file to your hard drive. When completely downloaded, it should play without a problem.

The model is VGN-FS850. I understand what your saying and I appreciate the help, but the skipping happens even when I click on something and the computer makes the "click" sound. It doesn't just make one click like normal, it makes about 10 of them really fast like an automatic assault rifle. The whole video scenario I wrote in the original post was just an example. The mouse cursor even skips if I continuously move it back and forth. If you watch it it will hang up while moving it back and forth. I wonder if some of my drivers are out of date? Also I just downloaded HiJack This from Trend Micro, and it said if I don't know what I'm looking at on the scan log, it would be a good idea to post my scan log on a forum to get some help removing some of the logs from my computer, so here it is. I hope this isn't to much to post on one thread.
