Slap 1.1.1.6

Has anyone tried Slap 1.1.16? Does it work good? Easy to use? By the way i'm new here!!! *does a little dance* So, give the "n00b" some help.

 

I think we did a little research into Slap! and found that the only way to actually READ the messages was to have a program specifically set up to intercept the messages. So really kinda defeats the point.

As MA says, a good firewall would protect you much better. A packet originating from your IP will tell them that youre "alive" and they'll keep scanning you.

Does it sound like someones trying to hack me? Cuz I have NO CLUE.
All the time all these things are being blocked and their source dns's are: adsl-068-209-236-177.sip.bct.bellsouth.net, dial-186-st.virgin.islands.modem-link.net, ACC53383.ipt.aol.com, Caflgh.us.es, cilent99.multiwebhosting.com, korrupt.com, and other things. Thanks you so much for being patient with me *HUG*. But does it sound like someone is trying to hack me? Yeah I'm sure I sound paranoid .

 

Do you think on Zone Alarm I should change my Trusted Zone Security to high? Its on medium right now. But you can never be too safe.

First off I want to comment that slap is completely useless and just wastes bandwidth for the internet community, as well mostl ikely just hitting a man in the middle.

They wouldn't be, they wouldn't get the packet back, unless you're exploiting insecure SEQ generation through idle scanning. But even then you're still hitting a man in the middle.

Depends in which stage they are spoofing, Idle scannign, no, unless you're the man in the middle, otherwise you can tell by lots of SYNs' with SYN/ACKs' that have invalid SEQ/ISNs' etc.


Really good spoofers you wont ever catch, they typically keep a dedicated box to spoof from, preferably a Unix machine or similar.

Well there's no poitn to spoofing anyways, unless for some esoteric purposes, like /root/.rhosts exploitation, or that type of IP based auth vulnerabilities there really is no point. (Other then RST attacks which are mostly useless, or maybe Idle scanning, but this is still hit and miss too.)

Because it takes lots of packets, Windows does have raw sockets ability through libpcap.

 

Well if the so-called "spoofer" had a box which he was spoofing to on a completley anonymous connection (on thats been compromised previously) then he could spoof if from that address from his machine, but unless you had a direct route to the target you still wouldnt get very far, since most modern networking gear has some sort of protection from spoofing and will filter out packets originating from an internal network (on a dialup server, for example) which didnt have the correct "Return address".

But thats what I understand from my readings of various different pieces of litterature and internet sources. Now im going to sleep
