slapper.exe

    Hi hope some one can help with 2 problems 1/ i downloaded software from here called a slapper i am un able to iether delete it or move it,, if i try to move it another one appears,, i now have 4!!!,,i cannot uninstall it iether,, how can i get rid of it ??,, i also seam to have a trojan that i removed stuk in my millenium system restore any advice on getting rid of it as the files are "in use" and i cant find a way to delete the file its stuk in thanx in advance for any help

    You'll need to Disable System Restore to remove that trojan.

    Interesting, that behavour I've only see with XP where the file is put in the cache. I'll look into it you may need to disable WFP(windows file protection) temporarily to enable you to remove it.

    as to the program Slapper ... your going to have to give us a link to it as I cannot find it in the majorgeeks programs listings.

    as to the trojan thats in your system restore you will need to turn off system restore > reboot > scan again with your AV, if clear re enable system restore

    Dammit, I was looking for that but it's not showing up on the FAQ's forum for some reason!

    And it won't run on those systems because they don't support Raw sockets (and neither does SP2 either, incidentally).

    Cheers Star for the update... I had strange ideas of what slapper could be ;)


    to remove you may need to go into safe mode as I guess this app is now a running process. to enter safe mode either hold the CTRL key down at reboot or alt hit F8 a few times at reboot.

    ok guys an gals ? thanx for the info it is very mutch appreciated ill try and get rid of that slapper.exe in safe mode and then get rid of the trojan :) by the way this is a real cool site :cool:
