I changed my motherboard, but when I booted up my slave hd was not recognized by XP. The drive does show up in the BIOS but with an odd name
    and size.
    My system is:
    OS XP
    MB Chaintech 7vjl5
    Chipset KT400A + VT8235
    Processor AMD 1600+
    BIOS Phoenix LTD 6.00 PG
    Drives Samsung 50 GB
    Maxtor 80 GB
Problem: Maxtor is not recognized by XP.
    BIOS shows drive as: MAYTOR!4K090I4!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I am baffled.

Have you format the slave drive yet?

Forgot the first rule of assembly: Check the connections. All is well now. :)
