Slave HDD install.

Ok, when i plug the slave in what will happen?
Does it just read it like RAM, or do i gotta install something?

Provided you actually have everything plugged in right then reboot, go into BIOS , do autodetect HD and sit back and relax

 

You will probably need to format it in windows if this is a new drive.

 

Problem..
The connecting wire is too short.
Going tomrrow to see if i can buy a longer one, hopefully i can.

 

How do i format it?

 

If windows detects the drive correclty it will assign it a drive letter like f: or g:

you just need to right click on that drive letter in My Computer and there should be a format option. Format it as Fat32 or NTFS. I think all the versions of windows have that format menu.

 

What form should i format it as?
FAT32 or NTFS?
It's 120GB.

 

You'll have to make sure the drives are configured correctly, as in Master/Slave. This is usually done with jumper configurations on the drive itself. Go to the manufacturers website for the jumper settings.

I believe NTFS is the way to go right now.
