So I'm trying to decide if I want to get an SLI board or a board that just uses PCI-E. I realize that the SLI board will be easier to upgrade(just by adding another video card), but it may not be worth getting an SLI board right now if you can only use the SLI effect with 7 or 8 different games right now. That and the fact it costs about $270 more.

So basically my decision is between the ASUS "A8N-SLI Deluxe" nForce4 SLI Chipset Motherboard For AMD Socket 939 CPU or MSI K8N NEO4 Platinum. Doesn't have to be MSI, can be another asus too. Like the A8N Delux that is even cheaper but does just as well.

Going to be using AMD Athlon 64 3000+. And if I use the regular pci-e mobo, then I'm going with a radeon x700 or x800 256 mb. Choices, choices. Any suggestions?

It really depends on how long you plan on keeping the board, SLI is a work in progress and has the "potential" to be amazing for games, if only Nvidia would get off their butt and move on the drivers so we can actually use it, still waiting... Right now SLI is a waste unless you play those 15 games, but if Nvidia comes through then it will be really awesome. I don't think the cost saving from the SLI or Ultra is that different ~$50, I'd go with the SLI, no loss even if the SLI doesn't come through, you have 2 PCI-E slots.
