SlickRun

A user on this forum had mentioned this program on another post. After doing some research about it, and reading reviews, I have seen nothing but good things from people. I downloaded it, and I cannot install it.
"This program requires the Borland Delphi Runtime library, which was not found on your system.

Would you like to download the library?
(2 minutes @ 56k)"
I click 'ok' it does something for a second, and then another message box appears saying that the Autodownload failed. I have downloaded a file from this site http://www.david-taylor.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/software/runtime.html and tried installing once again, but got the same thing. Any suggestions?

IOStream, it was probably me that recommended SlickRun. It is my most used and most useful program ever. I have over 150 MagicWords loaded to take me almost anywhere on my PC I want to go. I installed it without fuss, so can only recommend doing a google search for "Borland Delphi Runtime library" and download from another source. A 2 minute download is not a great deal so look for another copy. Google link below gives lots of hits.

Try latest version of SlickRun v3.3.1.1 http://www.bayden.com/dl/sr-upgrade.exe (not on MG site). My current version is v3.2.2.2 so I have to update anyhow.

My link has been superseded by this. I am downloading latest now, as well.

I will install it after I log off today. Post here again, if you still have troubles. SlickRun is really worth overcoming any initial troubles. I use W98SE, by the way. I have not used it on any other OS. Bazza

Well it works now. My guess is the site was down for a little while. So far I have a few Magic words in there, but I'm a pritty Click-happy person, so I already have a few desktop icons, and a program called H-Menu, which I love. Between the two they cover most of the things I run most often. I do like the mail thing though.. I have words.. hotmail, yahoo, netscape.. etc that it will open firefox up, and navigate to those pages. Some programs dont work with mozilla. Thats a definate +! Umm.. I do like the program, and its kewl kuz it doesn't take hardly ANY resources, and just chills down there without a problem. Very nice program. On the side its a nice addition to the system time.
Sorry I kinda wasted a post with a momentary problem. I'm glad I got it working though, kuz as I use it, I'm willing to bet I'll be setting up more and more magic words.

IOStream, You 're welcome. Another bonus, you can delete the shortcut on your desktop once you are satisfied the MagicWord is working. Cleans up your desktop as well. Bazza
