I bought a slimouse, a while back and lost the installation CD. It's pretty much a mini wireless mouse that looks like this: http://scientificsonline.com/images/250/30381-29.jpg And when I plug it in my laptop, the USB part flashes, and the actual mouse flashes and Windows 7 says it's installed correctly, but when I move the mouse, nothing detects on the screen.

In device manager, it shows up under 'Mouse' as HID Compliant mouse, but just doesn't seem to work.

Since it shows up as a mouse, i'm not sure if I need the driver, but it just doesn't seem to work.

Anyone know what I can do, thanks.

I had it working a while back, but it was really random. It worked sometimes and then didn't work some other time. But I have had it working on Windows 7.

Is it an old mouse? I mean the cable could be damaged.

The best you can do is test it in other computer and see if works perfectly, well that's my opinion.

You also could try to download the drivers, tell me if you need a hand searching the drivers.

    Cheers.:zzz

I have had the mouse about a year. It worked the last time I tried it which was about 6 months ago. It's been in a drawer since I last used it and doubt it would have been damaged. I know that it connects because when I press the 'connect' button on the usb, it flashes and then about 2 seconds later, the mouse starts flashing.

Just to be sure, it would be great if you could help find the driver for the mouse, although up to now i've had no luck. :(

    Thanks.

Changed the batteries? All my mini USB notebook type mice use batteries.

Then I suspect a flaky mouse, based on your comment in post #3 that you had it working but it was random.
My wireless mice just work - plug and play (desktop and notebook).

Maybe need to clean with a cotton swab, in the hole on the bottom....while in the drawer may have picked up some dirt...
