Team, it's been a while! Years actually.

This page has helped me so much in the past, so first I would like to thank you!

I am having some issues with my Mac and it's hurting my work.

I tried to look for a sticky on certain steps you need but I couldn't find anything for Macs.

Would you mind assisting me to figure how I can speed this bad boy up?!

do you have an imac? i've used mac pros, mac minis, and imacs over the years. the odd thing with all of this, is with the imacs. i don't know why, but the 2 imacs, after some years of use, just slowed down. it's not like i have done anything different or loaded them up or changed my behavior using them. they just slowed down. i did try all the standard suggestions, but to no avail, so who knows. the one thing that has amazed me, as far as speed goes, is the difference an SSD hard drive makes. it is almost unbelievable how much faster SSD drives are, from booting the computer to loading programs. also, in researching used macs for myself and others, the one thing i noticed, and am frankly appalled by, is the prevalence of 5400rpm mechanical drives in all sorts of mac models. i don't understand that, it makes no sense. anyway, good luck with it.
