Slooow Back button on IE

Each time I click on the Back button the response is very slow. When I open Task Manager and view the Applications tab I see IE is running. Then it goes to Not Responding and an additional IE task opens. Also saying Not Responding. The second one goes away and the first goes goes back to Running. And then the page loads.

My virus definations are up to date and I've done a scan.

Any help would be great.
