Slow boot up never happened before.

I have a dell inspirion 1525 2 gigs of ram and a crap celeron.... anyway. I formatted and it wouldnt let me do a full format would get stuck at 9%. So I did a quick format... Now it has drive C as not the main drive but has drive D as my D drive.... So i compressed the C drive cause i kept getting errors about low disk space. Everything was working fine nothing was wrong with the laptop. Id turn it off turn it back on in like a minute or so everything was up and loaded.... Now out of nowhere it just takes about 9 minutes to load up everything after a restart... It sits at the dekstop with the windows desktop only there and no icons and task bar no nothing. I ran a virus check did malware did hijack this did ccleaner and still having the same problems. I removed programs I dont use which really doesnt matter since its basically a fresh install. Umm i ran a disck check from windows and the command prompt by /chkdsk.. I really dont know what else to do? Only thing I can thikn of is the hd has a bad sector or something thats why it wouldnt fully format.. And that I sitll have the old version of windows somewher eon this OS even though it doesnt show it or show it as a dual boot.

 

Hi my friend , in ccleaner go to Tools - Startup - Windows tab disable all except for antivirus even you can run this

Try running "chkdsk C: /r" without the quotes and include the space between the C and the forward slash. If there's a bad sector, it can't be repaired. But running chkdsk with the /r will attempt to recover any data on that sector and reallocate the sector so it isn't accessed. Be advised that if there is a bad sector, it may be a sign of imminent disk failure.

 

Its all good ty for the help guys... I actually had an extra hdd laying around so i installed it and everything runs fine now. but thank you all for your help its much appreciated.
