slow boot up

Hi

as from the title suggests i'm having a boot up problem where it takes probably aorund 30secs to 1min to boot up my comp from when i turn it on till the win xp logo comes up.

here r my specs:

Intel P4 3.0Ghz HT (Prescott is another name for HT?)
MSI 865PE - Neo 3 Motherboard
120GB Seagate Barracudda 8mb 7200rpm
1 x 512MB DDR400 Kingston RAM
ATI 9200SE Radeon 128MB vid card
50x CD ROM

i've tried to run bootvis to see which item takes so long to detect and boot up but i get an error msg saying " The procedure entry point WmiOpenTraceWithCursor could not be located in the dynamic link library ADVAPI32.dll" whatever that means.

does anyone know wat could be wrong? ive seen other comps that boot up hell fast up like 20secs all up to the desktop screen. i even tried to enable a "quick boot" feature in my bios setup that "supposedly" allows to boot up within 5 seconds but still not working

its not a big problem but something that is a bit annoying.
any help is appreciated.

Have you checked to see if you bios can be updated?? Myabe there is a piece of hardware that is clashing with the current version of bios!!!

problem solved. it was just improper cabling on my part. though for us first timers (putting together a PC) they should have better instructions
