Slow bootup in vista.

Hi Just got a new dell inspiron 1521 laptop. I was using trend micro pc-cillin on it cause it came w/ the subscription but it ran out so I replaced it w/ avg 7 and put zone alarm on as a firewall, for spyware protection I kept windows defender.After installing these apps I noticed a drastic change in the time it takes the system to boot up. Is there any known issues using these apps together and w/ windows vista? Are there any other free apps that work well together that will not slow down my pc? I used this same configuration but without defender in winxp and it didn't seem do slow my system down. I'm wondering if this has something to do w/ vista. Thx ahead of time for your help.

Vista home premium
amd athlon 64 x2 tk-55
1.00 gb ram
ati radeon x1270

 

I did run ccleaner after uninstalling trend micro still didn't seem to help.As I type this I just uninstalled avg and ran ccleaner and installed it again to see if that would help but it still seems to slow the system down. I know it has to be avg cause when it's off the system boots up alot faster. I'm thinking about trying another antivirus software although this is kinda weird cause Iv'e never had problems w/ avg. Do you think it could be the boot time scan in avg? I looked under settings but under the scheduler the test scheduler is disabled but i'm not sure if that means the boot scan is disabled or not. thx again
