Problem: The problem I’m having is the web version of Outlook (OWA) which I use for work email has become slow. Slow to open/close emails, slow to change folders, slow to send emails, etc.. Similar problem with AOL web mail and Evernote. This happens in both IE9 and FF. Recently I’m noticed a slowdown in just internet surfing. Am concerned it is malware.
Computer: Am working on a Lenovo Thinkpad T510 with Windows 7, 64 bit. Have 8gb of ram. Am connected to internet via a wireless network using Verizon FIOS. There are three other laptops and one desktop connected to the network. For security, I am using PC Tools Firewall, Commodo AntiVirus, SuperAntispyware, Malwarebytes, SpywareBlaster, and CCleaner per MG guidelines.
Action: Worked through Read and Run First and Windows 7 Malware Removal/Cleaning procedure. Attached are four log files from SuperAntiSpyWare, Malwarebytes, Combofix and MGTools.
    Thank you, RB

Your problems do not appear to be related to malware since your logs are clean.

It may however be related to what you have installed. Based on your logs, it looks like you have firewalls from both Comodo and PC Tools running. You should try uninstalling 1st PC Tools, rebooting and then seeing if there is any change. If not, then uninstall Comodo too. Then reboot again and see how it looks.

Thanks for looking at the logs. Good news on the malware. Will check the conflict between anti-virus and firewall. Again, I appreciate your assistance. MG is a great source for computer fixes.

You're welcome. Let us know what you find out.

Since you are not having malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Go back to step 6 oof the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    6. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    7. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Will work through these steps to clean up. Pretty certain your suspicion was correct. Issue was conflict between Commodo Antivirus and PCTools Firewall Plus. Uninstalled Commodo and installed Avast. Then the problem became my browser would open but couldn't not access any sites. FF would just say it was connecting and waiting for web page. Tried to sort it out in an Avast forum and don't make much progress. Uninstalled Avast and installed PC Tools Antivirus, Things seem to be fine. Can access internet and web pages and speed seems to be normal. I guess given the 1) multiple free options for firewalls and antivirus, 2) Windows 7, and 3) upgrades to respective programs, the potential for conflicts and problems is pretty high. Thanks again.

Not really. I don't know of any conflicts between Comodo's AntiVirus and PC Tools Firewall although it is not impossible. However if at anytime you had used more than one firewall of more than one AV, problems could have been put in place which would necessitate having to install all the programs, rebooting, doing additional manual cleanup to make sure everything was remove ( odds are very high that the uninstalls would be complete ), and then reinstall one and only one AV, and on and only one firewall. Internet Security Suites commonly have antivirus, antispyware, and firewall included so when installing a security suite, you have to be careful of what you are installing.
