Slow burn dvd with Nero 6.6.0.8

Hi, I just upgraded to Nero 6.6.0.8 and now when I try to burn a dvd+rw it only goes at .2-1.8x! After 17 minutes a 4.2 gig file is only at 8% burn. The burner buffer stays at 6% while burning. The read buffer is at a constant 100%
I have a 2.4x toshiba sdr 6272 laptop burner. I checked the DMA, no INCD installed. I have the most recent bios and firmware installed. I did have recordnow installed, but I removed it and ran scanreg to clean things up. I can't figure it out. I have winxp 2 and a 80 gig hd with 1000 mb ram.

 

there is a lot off problem with 6.0.0.8 with poeple with dvd burner go back to 6.0.0.6 or wait the next upgrade 6.0.0.9 maybe next week

 

yeah! I figured it out. My secondary IDE was set to PIO. I just had to uninstall it and reboot, it reinstalled to DMA and presto, fast again! I guess it switches to PIO when you try to burn too many scratched dvds!
