I have just purchaed a new computer, a Lenova 2T hd, Intel i7 cpu, runs great, problem is it takes forever to burn, I took out the orginal drive, and replaced it with a Nec 7200s and added a 7241, still takes twice the time of my other older computer, I know that RMA had a lot to do with that, but when I go into device manager it does not show any RMA and no way to add it, I am using Win 8 , don't like it but it came with the package and I am not familiar with this program. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Can you explain what you mean by RMA?

Make sure your using quality media with a fast burn speed firstly, don't max out the burn speed of the media either, if it's X16 media run it at X12 ect, it could be the verification process that's causing the slow burns so disable 'verify files' after burning, if verification does take a long time it can be caused by poor media.

Post what software your burning with and what your burning CD's, DVD's, blueray, what file types your burning, how long it's taking and what burn speeds you have tried already.

Are you converting video files such as transcoding DVD's to MKV's, in this case it's not the burn speed that's important its the power of your cpu.

Several months ago my burning software was excellent. ImgBurn, Roxio, DVD Decrypter, DVD Fab.......now they all burn slow.....taking almost 2 hours to burn DVD from ISO file. I have bought a cheaper Printable DVD, but it started doing this with prior Verbatim discs.
Recently downloaded IDM.......and it's not accelerating time either. Have I caused something to lower my speed?.......in my settings? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

    Hi

    What is IDM?
What Windows version and Service Pack you using?

But slower burns and on same hardware think of your security software and could that be causing the slowness, so disable your anti-virus/malware software and test.

IDM is Internet Download Manager. I use it too, for my HTTP and FTP downloads and use qBittorrent for my Torrent downloads. Why his download speeds are low, I don't know. For me, IDM is the fastest of all the download managers I've tried (and I've tried just about all of them).

    He's running Win 8.

Cheers that answers the IDM question and blind as a bat me for Win8!

IDM as a download manager would not add to a slow disk burn, so likely as I mentioned some other 3rd party software, main culprit could be security as in anti-virus.

    I am using Windows 8.1
    IDM is Internet Download Manager
Not sure what you mean by service pack?
Will try disabling my security/firewall and test
Just use my Windows Security/Firewall......don't have an anti-virus program per se.

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
    Out of memory
Not enough storage is available to process this command.

I disabled my Windows Firewall, and burned an iso file with DVD Decryptor and as I said before it took 1.5-2 hours to burn.........this time it took 5 minutes. Thanks......You are Grand!
