    Hey there!

I recently formatted my drive and reinstalled windows to get a fresh start on things. Before, my PC was slow/laggy/choppy when doing just about anything. Videos were unwatchable (due to stuttering), games unplayable (same issue), and the fade in/out theme with most windows Aero-themed windows seem to go very slowly.

I'm posting here because, with the clean slate, I can't figure out anything other than hardware that's causing the issue!

    Thanks for the help!

    - Windows 7 Professional (64-bit)
    - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz 9.04GHz
    - 8.00 GB RAM
    - Video Card: EVGA 012-P3-1470-AR GeForce GTX 470 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
    - Mother Board: EVGA P55 FTW SLI 132-LF-E657-KR LGA1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel

The first thing I'd do is go to www.nvidia.com and be sure you have the latest video card drivers. If you're not sure, I believe the site has an auto-detect option (it's better to go to the NVIDIA site since the drivers are usually more up-to-date than mfr. web sites).

I'd also download and run Advanced System Care and do a full scan of your PC (be sure to enable all options including disk check and disk defrag).

If these tips don't solve the problem, post a reply and others may have alternative possible solutions.

    Hope this helps. :)

    Hi

Did you install the latest drivers from your motherboard makers site, namely the Chipset driver and reboot, then for graphical issues and the Aero slowness, gman863 has covered that bit.

Chipset driver for your motherboard HERE

Check Device Manager after you install the above 2 drivers and tell us if you have any yellow ! marks by any device and if so what?

Also if you have not update your Windows to SP1.

I think it was a driver I was missing, and I just didn't know it/remember it. But I'm running 100% now! Thanks!
