slow comp!

hey all i was just wondering why my comp has been really slow and stupid lately
i havent done anything special lately i formatted about a month ago and now it's really slow again on the internet or not

the computer will be a year old in december
it has 2.4 ghz, 512 mb of ram, 40 gig harddrive, radion 9200 128 video card

if anyone has any suggestions please leave them or else i will probably just fromat again

Maybe your PC got full of spyware crap. Do you clean your PC?

 

A couple or 3 things,and I'm not a comp expert by a long shot. Have you defragged and/or performed a disk cleanup lately? Also, are you using Norton AV? I found on a laptop of mine that it was slowing it down considerably. I uninstalled and installed PC-cillin and it speeded things up considerably. One other thing, what adware/spyware removers are you using. I am sure someone on here can address this much better than I. good luck

ya i accually ran norton and no virus's were found, i did a defrag and disk clean up all these things have really sped it up but truthfully i don't even have a spyware remover and havent since i formatted a month ago

does anyone know which spyware remover is best and possibly free

i have used spy bot before and liked it but if theres a better one i'd like to know thanks all.

Get rid of Norton's asap and install either

Install a firewall like Zone Alarm or Sygate available free from MG and download, install and run these 6
