My computer is running slower then i think it should be.

The games i play are running slower then they should be on my system (EVE-Online, Star Trek Legacy, Oblivion, etc) I have a decent computer and i do weekly scans with ad-aware. i have also used the Tweaknow Regcleaner on this site.

    I have attached my Dxdiag.txt

Oblivion is not going to run like a champ on that system...it bogs down on my system too, which is a considerable step up from your current specs.

Can you define what your current performance is, vs. what your expectations are?

Well some games like eve used to run pretty well, but now it lags alot, i have another computer, and even a laptop that runs eve better.

I also have a few other games that seem to run slower then usual, and im hoping i can figure out what seems to be the problem, rather then replace the computer

What have you tried to remedy this problem?

    How about spyware/virus checks? Defrag?

How much free ram do you have available? You can check in Task Manager, at the bottom. I'll include a screenshot for reference.

at the bottom of task manager it is

Processes: 28 CPU Usage: 4% and Commit Charge: 268M/ 2463M

and i use Symantec AntiVirus, with 12/13/2006 definition's.

and for spyware i use Ad-aware

Well, you have 756mb ram available to these apps. I'm betting upon loading, you have less than 200mb to play with. Is your slowness sluggishness, or choppy? Do you hear your hard drive grinding away?

Try a cleanboot and see where your performance is. Be aware that you are not protected from viruses in this state, so it would be wise to try this offline.

When you said to see where the performace goes, do you mean the mem usage in the processes tab?

Now that i think of it, i recently changed my graphics card from a raedon 9800 pro to the geforce 6200, the 9800 pro overheated and i had to replace it.

I just moved from minnesota to arizona and i forgot about that.

Well, I was curious if performance increased.

That changing of video cards may very well have done it.

    Where at in AZ?
