Slow computer

Hi

My computer was never really what you would call super fast, but it wasn't slow either, but recently my computer just died on me and with some help from some of you guys on this forum, I was able to get my system running again, but since it has been back up and running, I'm finding it really frustrating when trying to open stuff, because it does it so slowly now, here are some details

1.1ghz Duron
64mb ram
30gb hard drive with about 20gb of free space
windows me

I dont know whether its maybe some of the virus protection software I downloaded onto my computer when my system was infected, here is the software that I used:

Avast
Antivir
Spybot search & destroy
ccleaner
Adaware se & vx plug in
cws shredder
spybuster
Mcafee avert stinger
Housecall
Symantec virus scan
kill2me

Do you think it could be that when I click on my internet icon the reason it is taking longer is because one of the anti-virus softwares is checking the webpage out first before it loads it up?

For starters you seem to have 3 AV programs vyeing for space and elbowing each other. You only need one and I recommened that you uninstall Norton and antivir. Then get the pointers to them out of your startup leaving Avast. You don't say if the other programs you mention are also in your startup but if they all are, then I am not surprised that your computer is running seriously slow. Decide what needs to come out. I recommend that you download and install "Startup Inspector for Windows" available in MG which will show what is being loaded when you fire up your computer.
