Howdy! for some reason, for four days straight I have been having internet problems! I am currently at wits end. Wether its malware, I do not know. But when I'm trying to download something, the KPS drops down to 1 and below. (THis "Something" is a game from a trusted source)

I mean, it really shouldnt ask for 2 hours for an 8 MB download! Expecally on a DSL connection.

ONly thing I really have to try to detect malware is Hijack This. I don't think I'd be logicly able to get anything better because if its asking for 2 hours for an 8 MB download, think what it'd ask for with a larger download!

Wow, I had something like that and it was my ISP's fault. Strange how this change started on Jul 1st, as in beginning of the month when businesses implement changes. Have you tried downloading something from the main page here? They have great speeds and should give you a better idea of what's going on. I was thinking more along the lines of torrent throttling but I guess that's not it.

Yeah I have, actually. The DL speed dropped below 1 KBS. Needless to say, the bad speed is ticking me off.

That's all I have, hopefully someone else has a better idea. Good luck.

EDIT: Oh, did you install something new around that time?

Have you talked to your ISP yet? If so and you think you have malware do the Read and Run me first and then post in the Malware forum following the rules. Good luck.

I havn't talked to my ISP yet. The person who pays the bill isn't at home either. (he isn't behaving quite right lately, but that's a story for a differnt forum.)

You need to check with your isp honestly, as your up speed is fine, if it was some sort of malware sucking bandwidth it would use both. Sounds like you may have had some weather or something possibly damage your connection or area, and you isp needs to be aware of the fact. Start with your isp.

I actually got it all fixed now guys, sorry for neglecting this thread. The ISP guys found a problem with my router. Old thing was faithful for 5 years and it finally died.
