Benchmark with Sandra 2005. DSL modem into Linksys BESFR41 router to Machine A, B, and C. Speed from A to B is 1.1mb/s. Speed from A to C is 8mb/s. Speed from B to C is 1.1mb/s. Speed from B to A is 1.1mb/s. Replaced A with X. Speeds do not change.
Specs are: Router firmware = 1.4.08 (I think that is the #)
    A: Win2K, AMD 64 3000, ASUS K8N, 1 gig ddr400, 160 gig SATA (NEW machine)
    B: XP Pro, AMD 2600+, MOBO?, 1 gig ddr333, 160 SATA ( NEW machine)
C: Win2K, AMD 450, MOBO?, 256 mb SDRAM, 12 gig IDE drive, (OLD machine)
X: Win2K, AMD 1800+, MOBO?, 512 mb ddr266, 40 gig IDE drive, (NOT TOO old machine).
Machine A WAS XP Pro with same problem. Having a network disconnect problem from A to B, and from X to B only when trying to open server/client program on B. All hardware in A was replaced, and problem still exists.

It would appear that the location of each machine affects the speed of each machine. As I move my laptop around my home, I get a different speed at each end of the house. I have a desktop up against a wall underneath a table but less then 30 feet from the router and it gets a low signal.

Try moving the machines with the slow speeds, you may be suprised....
