About a week ago my 2 browser’s have been acting up on my wireless laptop. I primarily use Internet Explorer and as a secondary, Mozilla Firefox, both latest versions. The problem is that lately it takes a very long time to load websites. It appears it’s spending a lot of time waiting, and transferring data. Sometimes it times out, but most times it just hangs. I used to be able to watch tv shows on fancast.com and now cannot. I have trouble with youtube which is usually very fast. Regular sites like cnn.com and ‘majorgeeks.com’ come up pretty fast but still not like the speed I had before. My laptop has Vista with dual core, 2GB, along with NVIDIA graphics and is primarily used for leisure. I use Digital Cable Internet Access as my internet provider. FYI – I have used Norton Antivirus, Windows Defender, Adaware for over 2 years now and more recently when I was trying to troubleshoot this problem, I downloaded Spybot. I also tried to hard wire the laptop directly into the cable and the same problem occurs. We have another computer (Win XP) and this problem doesn’t exist (so it isn’t the provider). Does anyone have any other ideas? Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
