    Hello there,

sorry bugging you but i want some advice.
I have a rather old pc with 2gb of ram and an old hdd with windows 8. Although the pc is running fine with not so many problems, I found that using all those modern programs it gets kinda slow responding.

I want some lightweight programs to improve the performance.
Right now I use Privatefirewall 7, it seems that is not resource-hungry and I'm happy with it. But I want to find a light AV and a browser as well.

I was using the Windows 8 AV (windows defender) but sometimes it uses 100% of my disk(according to task manager), is there any av that is not very hungry, is it possible to catch a virus if im careful when surfing? Im thinking of running the pc with no AV if I not find something light.

Also, the latest firefox browser is eating my ram, are there any other recommendations?

    Thanks for hearing me out.

DON'T run without AV software!! A light program is Microsofts Security Essentials. And you should look into upping your ram......go to Crucial.com and it will check your system for maximum ram.

You might want to switch to Pale Moon as a browser.
