    I have and emachines T3095 with 700MB Ram And a Visiontek Radion X1300256MB I've ran Regcure, Nod32, and Spybot S&D and defregmented my HDD but my computer is really slow. I just installed Xp on another HDD and the computer is super fast. What is it that makes computers slow after they've been used?

    You might use CCleaner to clean out junk files and unwanted startup items. A lot of software can add itself to startup making your computer slower and slower.

    Emachines and that chip are also an entry level machine, so it wont take much to slow it down.

    Agreed with MA, I had a friend who's machine was going painfully slow and we installed CCleaner and pulled 5Gb of junk (yes 5Gb) of his system and all of a sudden it had a new lease on life. He couldn't believe it;

    It's also recommended that you follow this sites housecleaning procedures to ensure you have no nasties. It may seem time consuming but way that up to you sitting there and awaiting processing activities of your PC;

    Highly recommended you go through this procedure at least once per year.

    You might like to try Advanced Windows Care at

    IMO it is the best of this type of cleaning program. I use it daily (as well as CCleaner, Cleanup!, Spybot, etc.) as one of my batch of PC housekeeping programs.

    It may frighten hell out of you the first time you use it with 30,000+ "errors", but this is only because it is building up its' database.

    Don't be worried about that. A great program, free and really checks out your PC.
