Slow to load web sites

    I have windows 7 on a HP HDX computer. When I click on a web site it seems to load slow It goes slowly but ok up to the halfway point. Then it takes a while to get to load the entire web site. It goes to transferring to waiting over and over. Then it goes to about 90% but takes 45 sec. to minutes to complete the loading. Is this normal ? Can this be fixed? I use firefox as a browser. Thanks
