    Hello,

I have recently had some issues with my pc, when i try to copy large files it only goes at approx 20mb/second but when i do it in safe mode it runs at 70mb/second, is that normal? I swear before it copied faster than that.

    I have a 6-core bulldozer with 8gb ddr3 ram, I have 6 drives all together

    1. 160gb sata
    2. 1.5tb sata x2
    3. 2.0tb sata

and 2 external 1.5tb drives running through usb3.0. I get 100's MB/second with these drives.

I have tried memtest and find no issues...

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks

Is this copying between drives on your computer or across a network? If between drives in your computer are they all the same SATA speed?

just checked and its happening on all my drives that are inside my pc, the usb3.0 ones are fine. Only thing I have changed recently is my OS. All my drives are 4200 i think, i know my OS drive is quite old but the rest have been brought in the last year. I have messed around a bit with the OS - disabled the windows search, i have since reinstalled it but no change :(
