Ok so i had to reformat my drive and reinstall windows xp, now that done and in the drivce manger i have some yellow ?'s. i understand that i need to find and install those drivers, but I have no idea where to start. I wrote them down.

"Lexmark 1300(which i have the cd for)
    Multimedia Audio Controller
    Other PCI Bridge Controller
    SM Bus Controller
    Video Controller (VGA Compatible)"

I was told by a friend that i need to install the bus first then the video then audio, followed by the other two. Unfortanitly thats all he told me, which leaves me in the dark. I read some other threads like what I need and they ran a program that is downloadable from here that told them the chipset and other thinks about there system. (started with an A), but anyway i ran it and it said unknown motherboard and unknow chipset. Yikes now what. So the only information i can get is that I have gforce something and a AMD Sempron (+m) Processor 2800+ 1.60GHz, 1.43 GB Ram. I didnt see any marking on the motherboard, no names such.

    Any help would be great.

Well, you're in the right place ;) Download and run Unknown Devices http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3908.html You'll need to unzip it. Then double click on the big question-mark icon in the folder that appears after unzipping the download. It will provide a list with all the important details. When the list is up, click List (at the top) and click 'Save list to file' and it will by default save a file called 'Devices' to 'My Documents'. Then post here and attach that .txt file and we can see what you have and provide links. I have attached a screen shot below of what you need to click on in Unknown Devices to save the file, I though it might be easier....

Unfortunately, Unknown Devices was unable to detect the hardware (which is a first for me) and Everest was only able to pick up some very general bits of info, but it should be enough. The motherboard has an NVidia chipset with NVidia 6100 on board video. So, here's some links:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_nf4_winxp32_8.26_11.09.html This should work for the video, SMBus, and ethernet/network controller and the PCI Bridge Device
This should work for the audio (which I believe is RealTek) http://www.biostar.com.tw/upload/Driver/Audio/Realtek/AC97/2KXP/Setup.exe (NOTE: this is a direct download link; when you click on it, it will immediately open the download dialog for a file called 'Setup.exe')
If that doesn't work for the audio try this: http://www.majorgeeks.com/Realtek_AC97_Drivers_d4400.html

Good luck! Let us know what works, and what doesn't, and we'll go from there!

Ok I did everything that you said and I have internet back on the computer that didn't have it (using it now), but the video didn't work. I still have a yellow question mark in the device manger. The first link did work for the audio btw. Thank you so much!

Glad I could help! I was about to post another direct download link for video, but since you have it sorted out, I'll just say "Nice work!!!"
