SM Bus Controller & PCI Modem Driver needed...Please help!!

I have a Mobile AMD Sempron 2800+ laptop. I keep getting an exclamation mark on the SM Bus Controlller and PCI Modem in the Device manager. I have downloaded the driver for the chipset the driver fro the ATI card...but can't solve the problem. Computer is running very slow. Checked for virus, checked for spyware, etc. Not the problem.
Moreover, this laptop is optimally configured to run fast...services disabled, low resolution, etc, etc.
I need some serious help...the only thing that is left that could be causing this machine to run so slow is this driver problem...please, please somebody must have the answer:cry:cry:cry:cry

 

Please post the make [hp, dell. gateway] and the model no. [ze5700. 9200] and i will see what i can find. Is it xp or vista? ed
