This error message is no big deal and is not affecting my computer at all but I would like to fix and solve this before it grows to something big, if it ever will. After windows loading screen, I get a blue screen (the blue screen you get during a CHKDSK process set at boot-up) and an error message saying "ssiefr.e program not found - Skipping AUTOCHECK." Where is this error originating from? Thanks for the help

It appears that you have/had installed spysweeper on your computer.

If XP, click START, then RUN, then type in: regedit (press enter).

Migrate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager <--- this is migrating on the left side of the screen.

Now on the right side, will be a BootExecute entry. Double click that.

    It should read:

autocheck autochk * <---- notice the space between autochk and *

If it doesn't change it to that. Press enter. Exit the registry.

Reboot. Should come up normal now.

wait, what u want me to do with the autocheck autochk * line? U want me to space them out or put them together? Cause they were spaced

No, just wanted ye to check to see if the result was: autocheck autochk * and only this.

oh ok. Then in that case, it was as that, with the space in between

Well, I did a bunch of reading about this, and, yes, it is a left-over from SpySweeper's Early File Removal routine and your problem is actually fairly common. Instead of posting a bunch of links, I'll just say that the most common "fix" I found was a simple system restore to a date right before the problem started. If you do a search (Google, Yahoo!, whatever) for ssiefr.e you'll find lots of other "fixes" from regedits to defrag scheduling. ssiefr.e is actually a truncated version of ssiefr.exe (obviously without the xe).

yea i had spysweeper but like 2 years ago, lol. Wierd that it started doing this yesterday

    [UPDATED]

I searched for this file as you said dlb, and found a fix for it by using autoruns xp. I just deleted the file using that program.
