SmartFTP

Hi,
I have been having issues with my page file history jumping up, sometimes as high as 1.3GB which i started a thread on yesterday. I guess no one could help with that issue. When it happened today i was looking around in task manager and found SmartFTP.exe running in the processes.I use SmartFTP once every couple of days for a personal website. The question is I always close out of the program completely. How or why would it be running in the processes when the program is closed out??
All anti virus and maleware scans come up clean.

The server in question has been getting a large build up of Mqueue.
Could i be compromised like someone is using me as a zombie computer ?

i'm not familiar with that s/w. but, maybe there is a setting in the s/w to allow it to run in the background (even though you close the application)? just a guess. - sos

I used to use SmartFTP and switched to Filezilla which is better imo
its 100% free also

 

Bail on SmartFTP or never update it again. In July 2008, they stopped supporting real people, the ones that helped them out in years past who actually DEVELOPED and TESTED the program with them. Used to be a free license. Then it went to nagware. Now, it's commercial.
