SMBus Controller driver [KatD]

Hi I have the same problem. I have a AMD A6-3500 APU with Radeon HD 6530D.....would this cure my problem?

Not if you have a different chipset which I believe you do. What is the make and model of the computer and if custom built the make and model of the motherboard. Usually if you do not have a problem with the computer, it is not necessary to update this driver.

Thx, I thought not. I think the link was for the Intel chipset.

Well there isn't anything wrong with computer as far as I can tell, just weird that it has popped up with it's '?', if the update isn't necessary then I won't worry myself about it.

Kat if you have a ? in your device manager chances are it will help you to get that resolved.

Colemanguy is right in that there would be an improvement as the southbridge controls things like sensors and fan speeds. What is the make and model of your computer? What is your OS? 32bit or 64bit? The chipset drivers may be on their website.

I have been reading about AMD's APU's and it seem the southbridge is now called the AMD Fusion Controller Hub (FCH). Either the A75 or the A55. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find any driver stating that it was specifically for these chips. The only page I found relating to AMD chipset drivers was this and I cannot confirm if your chipset is included.
