    Dear MajorGeeks,

I've gone 8 years without a computer infection and it hit me a couple of days ago. My internet has been disabled and I can't get into my C: drive. All the programs are running slow. Naturally I suspect something has gone wrong. In normal Windows 7 mode, the anti-Virus won't start nor will MalwareBytes. The wireless icon continues to search and won't respond.

I started the computer in safe mode with networking and was able to connect to the internet. Ran both TrendMicro online, AVAST, and MalwareBytes, but no infections showed up. HELP!

HitmanPro is crashing every time it tries to save the log. Not sure what to do.

So far, there is no malware in your logs. It's starting to look like you are having system issues.

OMG I think you might be right. I ran a system check because the startup just failed and it identified that the System Volume file is corrupt. Then the scan repaired the startup. I'm logged back in now in normal mode and my internet wifi can connect and I see my C: drive again. Any other way I can be 100% sure that this is definitely not a virus or other malware?? And why would a system volume drive disable my wifi? I get it would screw up my C:drive.

I just recently went through a melt down....no system restore, no reset, no internet (both wifi and ethernet devices were borked), no disc management.....no malware. Couldn't even run SFC. My only option was a complete reinstall.

That's pretty crazy. Systems are not supposed to die on gurus like you! Then again, I thought I was taking very good care of this computer and was not expecting it to have any issues myself. Hopefully the system volume fix stays fixed.

Thanks for your help and will repost if it acts up again.

Your welcome. Let me know if you have additional issues. (BTW .. my system seemed to be fine until it rebooted ...then all was gone!!)
