snipping tool

I tried to use my snipping tool but all I got was a tiny box with a red circle with a white x in it, and when I went to Windows System Information, it couldn't be accessed. so something's going on with my computer. it's on automatic defrag, I don't know what to do to fix the problems it's having. perhaps I have a virus, or perhaps AVG is "feeding" me glitches so I'll buy their fixit program. anything's possible. and ideas?

Do you run a cleaner program at all? Not saying this is likely the problem, just checking. Cleaners and uninstallers can still produce some disappointing results, even though they are getting better.

Guessing you have Windows 7 and that you use the Windows firewall...

 

haven't for a while, Atlbo. spybot is abt the only one. no, I finally remembered, my OS is Win Vista. don't like 7, 8 or 9. nothing's been truly worthwhile since XP. MS keeps making worse and worse OS. I also don't run MS's firewall, I use AVG complete package.

Can you learn to use the quote feature here in the forum? It would make your replies much easier to follow.

Pure gibberish. You're using Vista, which is one of Microsoft's more disliked OS, yet you think it's better than 7; you'll get almost no agreement on that from any knowledgeable Windows users. Windows 8 is a major transition but its just different, not worse. And, Windows 9 hasn't been released yet, so how can you have an opinion on it?

If that's the free version of AVG, I believe it does not contain a firewall. I see no indication at http://free.avg.com/us-en/free-antivirus-download that it has a firewall.

I didn't say, before or now, that anyone else did. just me. and I'll continue to despise it. it's the most annoying, irritating, interfering pile of junk OS one can imagine. and yes, I am allowed my own opinion. you don't like it, tough. and I've read about the other newer OS's, don't care for what I've read.

I said the full version of AVG. it wouldn't be full if it is free. I pay for the full program. assume much? remember what assume translates to?

you spent plenty of time tearing me down but didn't offer any advice. that makes you useless to me. and everyone else, as well.

snarky much? live my life and you'll have good reason, I have severe health issues and I no longer put up with snarky people. no idea what your reason or excuse is. find time to help others, you might find your life is more worth while. I'm not a geek so I help people in other areas, researching and advising when people come to me, not being snarky and useless. I come here looking for information and assistance, not harassment. there really should be a way to report the likes of you. learn from this, or face the consiquences.
