So... how long has the "Utterance Society" been around?

i dunno why but i've started to post there. It's addictive...

 

really, really, really long. Id say at least 2 or 3 months. I know it was here before i went on forum haitus. before that, it was word association. which, if i remember correctly, was eventually locked.

 

can anyone join in on it?

Actually, I think the thread just got too long, and it started taking up too much time to load the page. That was started by Gottheit. He started another one, and if I remember correctly, maybe even a third one was started, before the current Utterance Society. Probably the most popular thread ever.

 

yep, they can. that's why the thread is soooooo long. How many pages r there anyway? 10? 20???

 

MOre like over 100 pages lol. i thik thats why everyone hates the word association threads.

I believe the other word association threads got removed

ended up bring down alot of post counts, as I recall

 

lol i would imagine. i remember when there was a word association thread, there were some that would have posts every other post. and i mean, 500 one word posts isn't much to celebrate about.

 

A post count in and of itself is nothing to celebrate about. 'tis but a number.

 

yeah i think i lost a few posts over that but oh well, im not here to have the highest post count

as to why they stop happening, when MG changes to a new server, it's easier to just remove the long thing....and since I knew that we made the change, started up the "Utterance Society"....people that won't talk to you will start off, giving a word once in a while.......wobbles

 

another couple of threads that i have noticed that have way too many posts in them are anything that pretty deals with folding. whether its the Offical folding thread, the official folding faq, folding, folding folding, they all have like over 1000 replies. but theres a whole forum for that, so idk why people just start their own folding threads.

 

i just got the feeling that some more people started to post at the Utturence Society after reading this thread.
