Ok so i wanted to play Crysis so i thought it was time to upgrade but i was on a huge budget.

So here is the system i had

    Athlon 3000+ Clawhammer
    Gigabyte K8NS
    BFG 6800GS
    2X512mb PC3200
    400gig ide hdd
    2 DVD burners
    FPS 500watt psu
    Water cooling system

First up i nabed up a new socket 939 X2 4200+ manchester for $40 "not bad put that baby to 2.9ghz woot, but i run it at stock clocks 24/7 lol. i just oc for benchs"

Next up i went to the local computer shop to pick up a biostar mobo $20 over priced but i went to look at some used graphic cards. Got their and they had a Gigabyte K8NF-9 with a 3500+ For $100. So i grabed that up with a cheap $40 X300 since i had no pci or pcie graphics card "turns out i had a MX4000 sittin on my shelf :(. They dident have any good graphic cards used so i pimped that rig for about 3 days.

Now im on the hunt for a graphic card. I call them up and bingo. they have a MSI 7800GT for $80. I went and grabed that since its still a nice card and for $80 its a pretty good deal Went home and slaped it in.

So now i got pretty much my whole new system wiht exception of a few parts so to get those parts i put out a add on craigs list.

I traded the X300 for 2 more stick of the same ram i got. So now i have 4X512mb

    I traded my a64 3500+ for a 320gig sata 3.0 hdd

Sold my clawhammer and K8NS on ebay for $100

Total this upgrade ran me was about $180 and for that price and how much preformance i got its hard to beat that. She may not be cutting edge or break any world records but shes fast and plays crysis and thats all that matters lol.

    New System

    X2 4200+
    Gigabyte K8NF-9
    4X512mb pc3200
MSI 7800GT Running at 530mhz core 1.2ghz ram
    320gig sata 3.0 hdd master
    400gig ide hdd slave
    2 dvd burners
    FPS 500watt psu
    Water cooling system

So i fired up the crysis demo and i can play it on med with high textures woot. And when the game comes out i'll be buying it and enjoying hours on hours of that game.

I have now steped into the dual core age. Before thinking i dont need one but now since i have one i found out i needed one bad. before when my 3000+ would bog down this 4200+ just keeps on going nice and fast. I leave you with a cpuz of my new cpu.
