Just replaced my motherboard and the new one runs the CPU too hot, around 50C. Used to run on old board at 39C. Just wondering if anyone has had luck with reversing fans to blow in rather than exhaust out.

    Greetings, richanton.

Did you use the same heat sink/fan that was used on the original board? If so, did you clean off the old thermal paste and apply new paste? If not, did you remove any shipping tape from the new sink, and apply paste? You might also want to make sure the processor is seated correctly in the socket.

As far as fan direction, for the most part you want hot air blowing away from the processor - some BIOS setups will not even allow fan reversal.

    Great stuff there!

Also make sure you have all the fans plugged in and they are all running un-ubstructed. How dusty is the pc?

Another thought: since this is a new motherboard, the possibility exists that there may be inadvertent overclocking going on - you might access your BIOS setup, make sure bus and processor speeds are set to safe defaults.
