I frequent both here and GOTD and I bypassed the first offering of the personal version... but I am curious as to what you guys think of Safe & Sec Safe & Sec

I generally prefer to use 'parts' verses a whole program when it comes to security software, but according to Anti-Malware Test it handles pretty well... but I'm not very familiar with that particular site...it was linked in the thread on the personal edition.

I pretty much go with the consensus here, however... been coming to MG for years now ^^. So, what say ye? Good or better to stick with current programs listed below? Also... I'd love to hear any feedback on what I do use, and whether they clash, or if there's anything better. These are just my computer safety and maintenance software lol.

    Online Armor
    Threatfire
    SystemCare Free
    Avast
    Super Antispyware
    Malware Bytes
    Glary Utilities
    Spybot S&D
    Spyware Blaster
    Tuneup Utilities 2008
    Eulalyzer
    Hijack This
    MG
    ComboFix
    CCleaner
    Smart Defrag
    Revo Uninstaller

Install WOT - Web of Trust. Also see the Safe & Sec scorecard which indicates they are not a trustworthy company. http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/safensoft.us

ComboFix is not an every day security tool. A guide and tutorial on using ComboFix

The MajorGeeks Must have FREE downloads list is always a very safe place to pick the best security software. It's never let me down.

And also the How to Protect yourself from malware! thread has even more safe free and paid solutions.

As long as you don't use unsafe internet practices then you should be OK with the following (which I use myself).

    Online Armor
    Avast
    SuperAntispyware
    MalwareBytes
    Spybot S&D
    Spyware Blaster
    Eulalyzer
    CCleaner
    Smart Defrag
    Revo Uninstaller

This is as long as all you have as real-time blockers are one antivirus, firewall and antimalware (optional). ThreatFire is a real-time antimalware but I didn't list it as I'm not much of a fan.

Registry cleaners and "all-in-one" cleaners can be destructive. Always use them with extreme caution.

Aye I read the thread, that's why I have Combo & MG lol :D I do have WOT and also a addon in firefox called Cool Previews... amazing and it really helps so I don't click on links without checking them out first (also great for lazing lol).

So Threatfire and which other are needed to boot? I've actually been wondering about Threatfire as I've been reading mixed reviews on it.

    *hugs ya* ^_^

Edit: Is there any others you would recommend adding btw? :D

I tried it a while back and decided it wasn't for me. Software that relies heavily on behavioral detections are, in my opinion, too aggressive. They seem to catch more legitimate processes then they do bad ones. I trust Avast.

To me you are good to go. Remember there can be a very fine line between being protected and going into the over-protected realm. :major
